Never Too Much Beauty

feb 130
Edward playing the cello with Elizabeth

Sunday night, we went to a choir/band/orchestra concert at South Christian to hear Edward & Maria in the orchestra. Again, they graced us with a combined rendition of "For the Beauty of the Earth" and Bridget took the video below with her little camera. Everyone was all, "Bridgie did this?" You can see Edward on the right side of the stage, Maria is in the back middle so you have to use your imagination to see her. This song always makes me happy. If you are reading this before bed and you listen to it, you will have a good song in your head while you dream!

Jewels and Bridget;
Thank you for sharing the wonderful Smilde children and their talents. You and John can be so proud as parents.

Julia, I love everything John Rudder composed. We had a choir directer at Brookside that studied with him and we sang so many of his songs-including this one. Wow, the South Christian Orchestra sounds great-the choir too. My Aunt Dora was telling me that her granddaughter (Is it Marie?) does Give Me Jesus with a couple of girls (Yours?) and that it is so beautiful. I think we should have them at MCC. Even though it's a little different genre. Skip

Skip,

Marie is sooooooo good on the cello. She is to the left of Edward on the stage. Marie & Maria have been bf's since first grade - I'm not sure if they do many pieces together but maybe we can get them to...

Very nice song! Hurray for Bridgie, now I get to watch it as well! Goes to proof again the wonderful talents of your kids. Hereditary gifts definitely ;)

sorry ... to prove
(I seriously have problem only with these 2 noun-verb word group: response-respond and proof-prove, I keep mixing them up ... grrhhh)

I love this song--it's one of those that I wish they would put the words in the program and ask us to sing along. I wonder if it comes in a solo arrangement . . . could be a great song for a wedding!

Annette- I was wondering why you said it would be great for a wedding, duh.

Anooja & Pearlie - It's good that they can be part of the whole.

Hi! I just wanted to pop in and tell you I loved this post. Took me right back to high school-I can remember singing it in choir.
I Love your photography, by the way. You are extremely talented and have a beautiful family!
