Last year, these really fun ghosts came to our yard to rake up the leaves. I'm wondering if they'll come back this year. The leaves are so much prettier and it's a beautiful day, so I'm thinking they just might!!!

Love Thursday
If you look real close, you can see that this isn't just another LT of loving the leaves. No, the leaves are loving us! The bokeh is shaped like hearts thanks to a card board cutout I put over the lens. Bridget & I do love those beautiful leaves!

My Favorite Thing to Do on a Beautiful Fall Day!
My friend Jacqueline from work had a window of time when her sister and brother would be in town and her mom & dad would be out of town, so she had a very good idea to have photos taken of the 3 of them at her parent's house, in their backyard, and with her mom's little dog (who she thinks of as a fourth kid).
The result was a lot of very fun photos to surprise their parents with for Christmas! I told them when I was taking them that it reminded me of taking pictures of my own kids since I also have a boy and 2 girls except you guys are so much nicer to each other! They assured me they had gotten it all out of their system before I arrived! Hehe.
I put a few more from the shoot in this set.

Chihuly
A couple of weeks ago, Bridget, the Queen Mother and I saw this rise out of the pond at the Frederik Meijer Gardens...
We walked around to take pictures of it reflecting off of the pond...
...and the things which surrounded it.
This is part of the exhibit by Dale Chihuly who is one of the most sought after artists in the world. It was fascinating to see how his pieces were installed to be one with nature :)

Loving the College Life!
Last evening, John & I went to the parent dinner at Calvin with Maria. I FORGOT MY CAMERA..UGG! We noticed that she is very much loving it there and captured that with John's blackberry. She had 10 inches of her hair cut off so she could donate it. What was left was very, very becoming :)

Fine Fall Day for a Family Fotoshoot!
This past Saturday turned out to be perhaps the height of the fall color!! We still have some green left to turn, but I was so glad to have a family to take pictures of this past Saturday. Ben & Heather were our kids' youth group leaders - this photoshoot was a thank you to them before they move to Canada at the end of the month. Their daughter was a honey - but she definitely had a mind of her own and kept running off the set!
We managed to get some traditional shots...
But the others were way fun too!
Click here if you want to watch a fun slide show of the whole set. It's kind of slow the first time you play it through, but if you let them load first and go get a cup of coffee and come back, you can watch it more quickly the second time through!

Marathon Guy(s)
Yesterday, John completed his 5th marathon! The evening before, I helped him with the carbo-loading part and then the morning of the race, Bridget & I stopped to see him run by at the 16 mile mark on our way to church. I called Edward to tell him how he was doing and make sure he was going to be at the finish line.
Then, to add to the excitement of the day, Bridget and I saw this whiz by on our way home from church. Seriously.
This was the first time I have seen Edward since he left for his junior year at Calvin and he looks older! I got a call from a friend a little later and she had seen him run by in the city also.

Love Thursday
I have been noticing that the leaves are starting to change color so I went out quickly yesterday afternoon to admire them. I was happy first of all to see this heart shaped leaf on the grapevine since it was going to be love thursday.
But then, back to my initial purpose for going outside, I took a few of the leaves that were just beginning to change.

A Grand Celebration of 10-10-10
This past Sunday was my friend Cathy's daughter Emily's 15th birthday. They invited Bridget & me to go along with them and a few other of her friends to the final day of ArtPrize and to have birthday cake in a random point in the city. We checked out a few ArtPrize highlights and captured some fine memories along the way.
Stopped for coffee...
Ran into some friends and gathered for a sweet moment together...
Imitated art...
Went for a carousel ride...
Walked up the city streets...
Posed for photos...
Enjoyed the sun and fall colors...
Ate birthday cake on the Grand River...
Pretty grand!

the Amethyst One
This tall Chihuly piece which looks like it is made of large amethyst gems looked quite beautiful amongst the fall colors, the blue sky, the Queen Mother and Bridget.

Wow Wow Wow
When we left off, the Queen Mother & Opa were on their way. We spent a wonderful day seeing many of the exhibits I have previously blogged about. We had a wonderful supper downtown with a salmon entree worthy of the ArtPrize logo. I wish I had a photo. Saturday morning, we headed over to the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park to see their ArtPrize exhibit and the Chihuly exhibit which was held over to October 31. I was happy to see it this time with the Queen Mother and without being rushed. Here are a few wonderful pieces:
