Happy Birthday to Uncle Al, a little late - that's him in the 1950's!

Hi Julia,
I am at the end of a long work week and just stopped by to relax before heading home. (I am not virtual at the moment at home.) Although this is a fun picture (HB, Alan), I love the photo of the road and trees in the Netherlands. My favorite entry of late was the one about "Our Stories". You are a great writer and photographer. Keep the moments coming. They are precious.
Boy does this picture bring back memories from another age! The windows are steamed up from cooking. There is a stool under the counter and beyond that if you will notice, is a door painted the same color as the wall. It was used for the delivery of milk (when it came in bottles and was delivered!). Can you imagine how handy that was for the lady of the house? I'm sure in that era there was also a bread truck. They still have that today in the Netherlands. Love it!
Aunt Becky - Glad you stopped by! Did you happen to watch the video? There is a "talking head" of Edward at about 14:10 which is so typical of him. He's also the kid doing all the calculus on the board. I can't believe he's almost 18!
Elizabeth,
This picture is vintage 50's isn't it? I remember that kitchen like yesterday.

Thanks for birthday wishes.....
...and BTW, that stool is in my basement!
yes, I recognized that red stool too, though it looks a bit rattier now and is confined to the basement. Nice picture!
