Much to her surprise, Bridget was asked to run the Mile (or 1600M) in the Conference Meet today. She ended up having to borrow these huge shorts from a friend since she didn't have hers at school.
The bright blue shirts in the picture look refreshingly cool, but I will tell you this - it was almost 90 degrees and so muggy you would cut the air if you ran with scissors. Think of August heat and double it. Bridget was in such agony after the race that John offered to get her a Slushy. Then we started to talk about running again in the Fall.
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 1 Corinthians 9:24

I can't imagine anyone running this afternoon. I walked this morning and the sweat was running down my nose. Bridget shows comittment! Good for her. I would give her a slushy too. Skip
32degC? Yes, that's a hot day.
Skip, Pearlie,
I was exaggerating about doubling the August heat b/c this time of year, you're not ready for it. Is this how hot it always is for you, Pearlie?
The temperature is usually about there in the 90s, the humidity I think is about 90% too :) We survive on slushies! jk
Pearlie- How do you think so clearly with an extra layer of sweat on your body? It's like another person hanging on you all day. John would fit in fine - he can't believe how I need to crank the AC on right away!
I spend most of my time in the office which almost feels like winter for us at times! It is during the weekends that we suffer the heat more, when we are home. The worst of the heat is during Feb-Mar, I'd end up taking a few showers a day!
look at me run im thecutest thing i eva saw i heart slushies
yes you are
