View from the Corner of the Pump House

We had supper this past Saturday evening at the Pump House on Kelleys Island and I happened to have my camera with me to use in between bites of my perch sandwhich .

Happy Labor Day

To rest from our labors this past weekend, we headed to Kelleys Island in Lake Erie on Friday night. The lake was a little choppy in the dark when we went over, but John took this picture of Bridget & I on the way back. This is what you do when you are only left with one kid at home.

The nautical striped ladies.

We had a relaxing time there. The way that time goes so much slower when you separate your usual life with a trip on the ferry always amazes me. Swimming, hot tubbing, photoshoot with Bridgie, going to the little island church, visiting with my aunt, uncle & cousins, biking, eating out... and definitely one of the highlights, seeing Mom & Dad.

Tripod Action...Ready, Set? Go Anyway!

obx10 146-1

Not since we took the tripod shot atop the mountain in Rehoboth where I slid out of camera view on the snow before it went off have I had so much fun with a tripod shot. Although, there was that time I went with Deirdre to the river... Our group was a little bit smaller this year, but we still managed to have fun with the group shot. Below is where Opa wanted his photo taken with his grandaughters and new great-grandaughter! Pretty special.

MDW Island Retreat

This past weekend, I went on an MDW with Maria and Bridget. MDW is Bridget's name for our mother-daughter weekend. We went to Kelleys Island in Lake Erie and stayed at my mom & dad's condo there. Mom had told me that we would be on island time there and it was true! We felt like a whole week had been lived in the span of a weekend! We had a wonderful time!

We had fun with mom & dad... we saw some awesome sunflowers and had white pizza and watched Julia Child bake bread on the Create channel and heard about the Living Bread in the little island church and took pix in the rain and rode big yellow bikes and went swimming in the new pool and and ate lots of ice cream and did the O-H-I-O cheer and Hung on Sloopy...

Today, I'll post some sunflower photos:

The Big Seventy!

What if you were turning 70 years old today? This might be a good thing to get in honor of the big day - especially if you were born in a Mercedes dealership in The Netherlands!! A few weeks ago, Dad came up to GR and found this sweet car. When John & I picked it up for him a few days later, I posed it in a good spot to take some photos. Pretty fun!

June, 2005, Edward with Opa & Grandma

We're leaving for the Outer Banks tomorrow morning, so I thought I should post a flash back from there. Edward is staying home to work, but he'll be with us in spirit!
