Epic OBX!
Sorry to be using the overused term "epic", but that's what I might call this photo ...
John, Bridget & I enjoyed a fun, relaxing time with the family this past week at the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Very fun. We captured our little family pic, too...
Edward had a little bout with poison Ivy while we were gone, but was able to visit the doctor and get some prednisone to take care of it. We were glad to see him in one piece when we got home.

Our peonies had hardly been out for a day when a driving rainstorm came one night.
The blossoms that do not have a bush nearby to lay on are hanging kind of upside down...
But I think they still shout out "Hello!"

Still Running...
Edward ran in the Brian Diemer Amerikam 5K this past Saturday which takes place about 1 mile from our house. It's named for a former local Olympian who won a bronze medal in the Steeplechase who is now about my age, maybe a little older. He still holds running records at South Christian HS and runs in this race. In fact, the thing with this race is, if you beat him, you win a donut!

I arrived at the race like a proud mother with a camera, and was quickly swooped by the official race photog to take photos. We had GREAT seats!!!
This fun shot at the start of the race shows Edward in the middle of the pack in the bright orange (Oranje Boven!) running next to Brian Diemer in the dark gray.
Ed had a really good race... 17 min 50 sec and did make it in before Brian, thus winning a donut! Run Eddie, run!

Baby Bird
Edward & I saw this baby bird in our front yard last night. When he wasn't there anymore today, John said (joking) I hope Leo enjoyed him. Ew! Maybe he just flew away! I think it's a baby cardinal...

Colorado Bound!
John took Maria out to Estes Park, Colorado this past weekend where she will work at the YMCA of the Rockies this summer. We helped her get all decked out - hiking boots, zip-off pants, backpack, etc. She's looking forward to a beautiful summer!
Edward & Bridget got up early on Saturday morning to see her off...

Awesome Moments
So I did a photoshoot of 1 and 2 year old brothers this past weekend. Very fun, but they didn't want to sit still for anything! Although it was challenging and I didn't feel like I had gotten much, I did end up getting a lot of great shots...then the mom gave me the greatest compliment of all - she said she started to cry when she saw them! Made my day.
