So this past Saturday, I met Maria & her friends/housemates at an apple orchard to take photos and pick apples. Such lovely girls! They would like to have some enlargements made for their house I think.
Our church holds a fundraising event every year on the night before ArtPrize opens. This year, we had about 1000 people come through and it was the biggest ever.
Bridget came to our church yesterday with some of her Calvin friends and they came to our house afterwards for a baked potato bar. There was a lot of laughing with surprisingly few actual words coming out of their mouths. What fun! We finished with a brief photo session before they left.
This past year, we met weekly went through the book The Artist's Rule together and we plan to continue meeting again this year. It has been interesting to study Benedictine Principles and encourage each other to work on our art in an attempt to strengthen our monk and artist's archetypes.
We were at Notre Dame to visit Edward for the past couple of days both to celebrate John's birthday and Ed's graduation. On our other visits, we had seen the outside of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, but this time we were able to go inside. It was indeed a magnificent place, a reminder of God's glory.

It wasn't the Riverbank Run or the Brian Diemer 5K or the GR Marathon. Edward came home last Friday to run in the Andreas Classic which is the Calvin Cross Country time trial that ends with pizza from Andreas. He was able to see many of his old friends before he moves to Seattle so that made it worth the trip. And also, his car gave out just in time so he could leave it here at the shop and take John's car back.
And it was nice to be able to photograph one more race.
