Five Guys

This past Sunday, we made a quick trip to South Bend to celebrate Bridgie's birthday together as a family.  We went to Edward's church, South Bend CRC, and then to Five Guys for lunch.  Edward also gave us a tour of Innovation Park where he does most of his grad school work. Very interesting and fun trip!


Her actual birthday was this past Friday and I took this of her with a red velvet cookie after school.  Those cookies do taste like the real thing!

Bridget, the Artist

Bridget had the honor of having one of three paintings chosen from her high school to be in the Congressional Art Show at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum.  It hung in the museum for a week and then there was a ceremony where she was presented with a certificate from our Congressman Justin Amash.


Her painting was of a parrot and was named, "The Apostle."


I like this photo because it shows the Grand River at it's historic flood level.

Flash Back Friday

Bridget is 18 years old today. Just yesterday she was a 3 year old little girl.

And the day before that, she was a little baby.



And the day before that, she was just an infant, only 5 days old.

John whizzing by in the Hollywood Half marathon.

I was surprised at how much fun we had in Hollywood.

We stayed here before the race which started at 6am!



We saw a lot of interesting stars after the race...
 
 

But this was my fave...

It was a little different being at the Pacific Ocean - sunsets over the ocean, long surfs, and brown seagulls!

Laguna Beach

We were last here in 1999 with our 3 little kids.  How times change!  It's still a beautiful beach.

Teddy!

One of the most fun parts of the wedding was when the little flower girl carried in Heidi's Pomeranian, Teddy!




It was quite entertaining to watch him during the ceremony with the flower girl.


He behaved himself really well!

Beautiful Day

It was so nice to come from the cold and snow of Michigan and enjoy a nice outdoor wedding.


Thankfully, I was also able to take a lot of good photos from the aisle seat.

California Wedding

So this is John & I with the family in San Juan Capistrano where we went last week for the wedding!  We had a great time catching up with everyone, his dad, step-mom, half brother and 2 half sisters.  Oh and of course, it was great getting to know our new brother-in-law, Steve!

Laguna Beach

We made it to a few beaches in California - Laguna Beach was one of my faves! We made it back to Michigan today and this weekend I hope to go through the over 400 photos I took.
